  • Discuss the epidemiology of drowning among children & teens in the US.
  • Describe evidence based approaches to preventing drowning, & gaps in knowledge.
  • Discuss the role of health care providers in drowning prevention.

and a co-author of AAP’s new drowning prevention policy statement
Nicole Hughes
Mother to four children, including Levi – her 3-year-old son who drowned in June 2018. She now advocates to change how our culture perceives water.
