DESCRIPTION:This conference on pediatric neurology is specifically tailored for primary care providers and anyone taking care of patients with neurologic issues. The presentations will offer essential updates and practical guidance to enhance recognition\, initial management\, and appropriate referrals of common neurological issues in children. The conference will  equip providers with the confidence to conduct effective screening exams\, understand the red flags necessitating a prompt subspecialty referral\, and implement evidence-based initial treatment plans\, fostering a seamless and collaborative approach to pediatric neurological care.\n\n  \n  \n  \nTopics Include\n \n\nIdentify common causes of dizziness\, headaches\, and paroxysmal movements in children and apply appropriate diagnostic and initial management strategies.\nDifferentiate between epileptic and non-epileptic seizures and describe initial approaches to common childhood epilepsy syndromes.\nRecognize symptoms and pathophysiology of autonomic dysfunction and implement basic management strategies in primary care settings.\nDescribe gait abnormalities and functional seizure presentations in pediatric patients and determine when referral to neurology is warranted.\nExplain the role of pediatric neuropsychologists and identify appropriate indications and processes.\n\nContinuing Education Credit:\nChildren’s Hospital Colorado is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
