SUMMARY:Behavioral Health in Pediatric Primary Care Conference 2025
DESCRIPTION:THE PEDIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTE AT\nCHILDREN’S HOSPITAL COLORADO PRESENTS:\nThe Behavioral Health in Pediatric Primary Care Conference:\nApproaches for Supporting and Treating Children and Families Today\nMonday\, May 12 8am-4:30pm and Tuesday •80am to 3:45 p.m. MT\n \nTo register\, click here and for more information\, click here for the program. For any questions or concerns\, please email Matthew Stern. \nJoin the Pediatric Mental Health Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado for the Behavioral Health in Pediatric Primary Care conference\, a two-day event offering practical strategies to enhance your approach to supporting and treating children and their families. \nCourse Overview:\nOur two-day session combines the leading research from the CU Anschutz School of Medicine with the stories and experiences of community providers. It will be a gathering of the minds where theory meets practice\, centered around teaching providers practical solutions. Tracks are designed to address both the “what” – clinical information about screening\, diagnosis\, treatment\, and referral and the “how” – operational expertise to build high quality and financially sustainable practices: \nThe Clinical What. Designed for those delivering care to kids and families\, these sessions will focus on “the what” of behavioral health in primary care. Topics include addressing behavioral health interventions\, screening and assessment tools\, referral choices and single session to short-term interventions. Sessions will cover when and why to refer patients to specialists and higher levels of care. \nThe Operational How. Referrals? Co-location? Integration? The choice is not simple. Effective practices often use a variety of approaches based on specific patient populations and practice orientations. We will explore the complexities of meeting the mental health needs of patients by sharing best practices on scheduling\, workflows\, facility design\, billing\, and coding to optimize patient experience and health outcomes. \nThis conference will be of interest to Physicians\, Physician Assistants\, Nurse Practitioners\, Practice Managers and all others that assist in the care of pediatric patients. \nObjectives: \n\nStrengthen approaches to treating behavioral health patients in primary care settings.\nExplore the range of options primary care practices can employ to meet the mental health needs of youth and support their families.\nDefine the practices to self-assess models and approaches that work best for their unique patient populations and practice orientation.\nEquip providers\, behavioral health clinicians\, and practice managers with tools to create better workflows\, referrals and billing and coding solutions.\n\nAvailable Credit\n10.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™
