Let’s celebrate World TB Day! Join us for our 3rd annual in-person World TB Day event to celebrate Dr. Robert Koch’s Nobel Prize-winning discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and build on our knowledge of TB since his discovery.
Our keynote speaker is Maria Smilios, the author of The Black Angels: The Untold Story of the Nurse who Helped Cure Tuberculosis. The New York Times review said, “Smilios paints an indelible portrait of an era when this untreatable bane killed one American every 11 minutes. Others have covered this territory before. But this account breaks new ground by recovering the forgotten heroics of a corps of Black women who stepped into a void that no one else would fill…an excellent book…that deserves reading and remembering in the pandemic age”.
This year presenters include National experts on topics covering:
- TB and Mental Health
- TB and Diabetes
- TB Survivor stories
- Newcomer and Refugee Health
- Overview of correct IGRA procedures
- Overview of the Denver Tuberculosis Program
