Webinar: Why are children hungry? What can pediatricians do?
September 18, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm MDT
Today, one in six children living in the US lives in a food-insecure household. Even short stretches with food insecurity can dismantle/disrupt the foundation of a child’s health and wellbeing. While all households are vulnerable for food insecurity, there are certain types of households and children that face higher risks of food insecurity. As a part of the Institute’s National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month activities, Sandy Hassink, MD, FAAP, will present “Why are children hungry? What can pediatricians do?” This webinar will explore the latest literature that supports policy and practice recommendations as well as resources for providers to effectively screen families and connect them to community supports.
The webinar will take place live on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 4pm ET/2pm MT. Register for the webinar here.
If you are unable to attend the live webinar, its recording will be posted on the IHCW website page here.
