This cutting-edge information will enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of providers involved in physical, social, and behavioral health aspects of care in adolescents and young adults.

The increased knowledge and skills will help attendees better advocate for youth in all domains of health and well-being.

Objectives:

  • Recognize structural vulnerabilities that influence the health and well-being of Gender Diverse Youth and discuss ways to strengthen the potential for resiliency to thrive
  • Consider the impact of THC on the developing brain and devise talking points to educate youth
    Summarize the consequences of fentanyl and other synthetic opioid use and strategize means to decrease its use among adolescents
  • Describe the new over-the-counter birth control pill, and review the evidence-based guidelines for the recommended length of use for the implant and IUD’s
  • Identify the signs of disordered eating and develop approaches to prevent it from becoming an eating disorder
