Movie Screening: Precious Loss (race and infant mortality)
April 16, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm MDT
Join us for a screening of “Precious Loss” followed by a panel discussion with experts on infant and maternal health. (Panelist list in development.) Precious Loss is a Rocky Mountain PBS documentary investigating why, despite wealth, educational attainment or age, black families are so much more likely to lose their babies before the child has a first birthday than their white counterparts.
The event is made possible by Think Babies, through the work of the Raise Colorado coalition and the American Academy of Pediatrics-Colorado Chapter, open to everyone who cares about expecting families, pregnant people, infants, and toddlers, including legislators, impacted families, advocates, health care providers, and other community members. Every infant lost is a tragedy for that family and community. Together, we can do better at supporting new families to thrive.
