Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) play a crucial role in preventing potential harm by temporarily restricting access to firearms for individuals deemed to be at high risk. Health care providers are included as petitioners in several states’ ERPO laws. However, in states where health care providers are not included as petitioners, they still play a critical role in promoting the safety of their communities.
