In this course, general pediatric providers will learn about common general pediatric conditions and concerns including newborn genital anomalies, atopic dermatitis, allergies, and oral contraceptives. Experts will explore current guidelines and standards of care for each topic along with practice management pearls related to billing, time management, or referrals. In addition, we will explore hot topics as we look back on the top journal articles of the past year.
Objectives:
- Identify neonatal genital anomalies and the timeline for intervention
- Differentiate topical steroids by potency and appropriate duration of use by body location for the treatment of atopic dermatitis
- Explore new treatment options to manage pediatric allergies
- Explore options for initiating oral contraceptives
- Determine appropriate and timely referrals to specialty care for a variety of common pediatric concerns and diagnoses, including hypospadias, atopic dermatitis and food allergy
